Taking Part in Leapsome’s People Leaders To Watch Award
“People Over Perks” is a community brand for people leaders, founded by Leapsome GmbH, Brunnenstraße 153, 10115 Berlin, Germany (“Leapsome”). As part of that community, Leapsome runs the People Over Perks Award (the “Award”): a recognition award open to people leaders in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Anyone eligible can nominate themselves or a peer; a Jury reviews the nominations and selects up to 25 people to be recognized; and those Honorees are then featured, with their name, employer, job title, a photo, and a quote, and in a printed copy of the winner list, on the Leapsome website, and on Leapsome's social channels.
These Terms set out how that process works and what nominators, nominees, and Honorees agree to by taking part. They apply only to the Award; other content and activity under the People Over Perks brand sits outside their scope. 1. Who can join.
All participation is free of charge and not tied to any purchase. To be nominated or to nominate someone, you must be 18 or older, based in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland, working in a people-leadership role, and not a Leapsome employee. You may nominate yourself or a peer. Nominations are not anonymous: the nominee is told who nominated them.
2. How nominating works.
To nominate yourself, complete the form at https://www.leapsome.com/people-leaders-to-watch. If you nominate a peer, we will email them to let them know and ask them to confirm their participation; their entry does not become active until they do. If they have not confirmed within 14 days, we delete the entry. By submitting a nomination, you confirm that the information provided is accurate and does not infringe anyone's rights.
3. What goes in a nomination.
Nominations include a free-text field explaining why the nominee deserves recognition. Health information and other sensitive personal data must not be included. Every entry is checked by a named reviewer before the Jury sees it, and again before anything is published. A nominee may request a copy of what was written about them, or ask for it to be corrected or deleted.
4. Who picks the winners.
Nominations are judged by Leapsome's two founders, Leapsome's VP People & Strategy, and two external people-leaders (the “Jury”). Every nomination is judged against the same four criteria (“Selection Criteria”):
- Impact: Real outcomes from your people work: culture, growth, retention, performance.
- Innovation: A modern, forward-looking way of running people ops, including smart use of AI.
- People-first leadership: Building great teams and leading with candor and low ego.
- Influence: Raising the bar for the wider people community.
The Jury selects up to 25 nominees to be recognized (each a “Honoree”, together the “Top 25”) based on the Selection Criteria. The Jury's decision is final and cannot be challenged. There is no public vote, and a juror with a conflict of interest steps aside from that nomination.
5. If you make the Top 25.
By taking part, and once the approval step below is complete, Honorees agree that Leapsome will publish their name, employer, job title, a photo they provide, and a short quote, in a printed copy of the winner list, on the Leapsome website, and on Leapsome's social channels. This forms part of taking part in the Award. Withdrawing afterwards stops further use of the honoree's details, but does not undo copies already printed or content already shared elsewhere.
6. Before publication.
Each Honoree is required to send a photo, approve their quote, and confirm their name, employer, and job title before publication. By providing a photo, the Honoree confirms they hold the rights to it and that the internal sign-off (if required) by their employer has been obtained.
7. No entitlement.
Participation does not create any entitlement to win or to a particular outcome, and the Jury's decision is final. This does not affect a participant's statutory rights, for example under data protection law.
8. Changes to the Award.
Leapsome may amend these Terms, or suspend or cancel the Award, for legal or practical reasons. Participants will be informed of any material change via email. Leapsome may disqualify a nomination, or exclude a participant, where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been manipulation, abuse, or a breach of these Terms.
9. Liability.
Leapsome's liability towards participants is limited to intent and gross negligence. For ordinary negligence, Leapsome is liable only for breach of a material obligation under these Terms, and in that case only for damage that was reasonably foreseeable. None of this limits liability for injury to life, body, or health, or any other liability that cannot be limited under German law, for example under the Product Liability Act.
10. Miscellaneous
10.1 These Terms are governed by German law, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights a participant may have where they live. Berlin is the place of jurisdiction unless the law provides otherwise; this point is still to be confirmed. If any part of these Terms is invalid, the rest remains in force.
10.2 These Terms, together with the privacy notice referenced in the preamble, are the entire agreement between Leapsome and a participant regarding the Award, and replace any earlier understanding on the topic. Any notice a participant needs to send Leapsome under these Terms can be sent to luana.scarano@leapsome.com; notices from Leapsome to a participant will be sent to the email address used for their nomination.
10.3 No message you receive in connection with the Award, including a nomination confirmation or notification, constitutes a binding announcement that you have won a prize.
